Re: Why I need someone to say no for me

Hi, Chris here.

We build more products than we talk about in public, and larger brands are starting to ask for more from all of them. Each product has a squad, a backlog and a good reason to exist. What they need is one person who knows all of them, talks to customers every week, and decides what ships next.

The job covers the whole arc: discovery, research and competitors at one end; specs, UI and UX in the middle; launch, go-to-market and partners at the other. And the squads that do the work, every week.

You'll sit next to me, and you'll often tell me no. I want that.

Chris

Why this seat exists

More ideas than squads. Someone has to choose.

Several products, one customer.Merchants don't care which team built a screen. They want the whole thing to make sense.
Discovery before delivery.Talk to merchants, read the market, tear down competitors. Then write the spec.
Launch is half the job.A feature nobody hears about didn't ship. Every launch gets a plan and a number.

The best roadmap is the one with the most things crossed out.
